Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Delivery Information

    Dispatch

Stock permitting, we aim to dispatch your order within 2 working days of receipt. If an item is temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of the delay and will dispatch it as soon as it arrives. If the delay is likely to be more than 5 working days, we will contact you to see if you would still like us to send the order to you.

If we receive incorrect billing or credit card account information the processing and subsequent dispatch of your order can be delayed. Once your credit card has been approved your order will be dispatched by the method that you have chosen. The goods are dispatched from our distribution centre outside Belfast.

    Delivery
Choose the delivery option that brings your new clothes to you in the time frame that you need them.

We must have a complete address to guarantee delivery. A day time phone number is needed in case of problems. Some carriers require a signature on receipt to ensure safe arrival.

    Options

Our distribution agent uses a number of different companies to ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our customers. These delivery companies are reviewed regularly to ensure that they continue to provide the service that we require for you. Those currently being used are Royal Mail and country of destination national postal service or Parcelforce or DHL.

    • Standard Delivery UK £5.00 Aims to arrive within 4 working days of dispatch.
    • Express Delivery UK £10.00 Aims to arrive within 48 hours of dispatch. (2 working days).
    • Standard Delivery Europe £ 6.00 Aims to arrive within 8-10 working days of dispatch.
    • Express Delivery Europe £ 30.00 Aims to arrive within 48 hours of dispatch. (2 working days.
    • Express Delivery Rest of the World £ 50.00   Aims to arrive within 5-7 working days of dispatch.

We know that a number of companies offer free postage and/or free returns. We did consider offering this but the costs would have to be absorbed elsewhere and at the end of the day that would mean that the price of the clothes would go up. This would result in the customers who bought and kept clothing subsidising the customers who bought and returned clothing. That didn’t seem fair so we decided to keep the costs of postage as a separate item and to keep the whole transaction more transparent.

    Important Delivery Information

Outside of the UK, local import duties and/or taxes may be payable upon receipt. These are your responsibility.

All overseas deliveries may be affected by Customs and Excise delay. The Professional Bump cannot be held responsible for any delays outside of its control.

Failure to Deliver Within Specified Timeframe

All dates quoted for delivery are estimated delivery dates only and may be subject to change. We can accept no liability for any loss or damage (whether direct or indirect) for delivery at any time other than the estimated date of delivery.

However, it is very unusual for our customers not to receive their order within the time frame specified for each delivery method. But if your parcel does not arrive, please email us a thegirls@theprofessionalbump.com and we shall investigate immediately and will keep you fully updated.

  2. Orders and Stock Availability

By placing an order via this website, you are making an offer to The Professional Bump to purchase the goods detailed in your order upon the terms described in your order.

Once you have placed an order we will send you confirmation that your order has been received but this is not a confirmation that your offer to purchase the goods has been accepted. A contract between you and The Professional Bump for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed and dispatched to you.

Once your order has been placed, you can keep track of its progress on line. Once logged in, please view your order in your order history and the status will be displayed.

You can check on line to see if the items you require are in stock. The table on the product page will display the current availability. Do remember that between you viewing the product page and your order being received by us, there is a chance that availability may change and on the rare occasion, that it may go out of stock.

If something is out of stock, we will always give you the best information that we can on anticipated delivery dates. If we are subsequently unable to restock with that item, we will tell you as soon as possible, by email or telephone. Dependant on your specific instructions, we will then make every effort to ensure that you receive a prompt refund of the price of the one or more items of clothing (the handling charge may not be refundable if a part order has been dispatched).

Regrettably, we cannot ensure that all items are available all of the time. We do try our best. Some items are simply more popular than we predict and sell out quicker than we can anticipate. Lead times in this industry are annoyingly long which means that if our supplier is out of stock we may not be able to fulfil that part of your order.

  3. Guarantee and Returns Policy

    My guarantee

I hope that you enjoy your new clothes but if you decide not to keep them, you may return them to us within 14 days of the date of dispatch.

    How to Return or Exchange

    1. You do not need to telephone or email us when you return an item to us.

    2. Details of the returns address are included in your package. In the event that you misplace that sheet, the returns address is The Distribution Solution, TDS House, 11 Kilbride Road, Doagh, Ballyclare, Co Antrim. BT39 0QA. Northern Ireland.

    3. Indicate clearly whether you would like an exchange or a refund. Please take the time to complete the form to explain why you are returning the item(s). This will help us to address any problems that may be apparent to you but not to us.

    4. Please take your parcel to your nearest Post Office. Please obtain and retain Proof of Postage because we do not accept responsibility for items lost in transit. We recommend that you send returns by recorded delivery. Goods are returned to The Professional Bump at your own expense.

    5. We will confirm in writing when your returns parcel has been received and processed. Your refund credit, cheque or exchange order (if in stock) should be received by you 10-15 working days after you return the goods to us. Please note that we do not refund shipping charges.

    6. If you return an item on which you received a discount/offer, that discount/offer will no longer apply if you fall below the discount/offer threshold. Please note that we can only accept returns if they are in the original packaging, unused and in a resaleable condition with all their tags attached.

    Legal Statement on Returns

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, if you are contracting with The Professional Bump as a consumer, you have the right to cancel your contract at any time within 7 working days of receipt of the goods you ordered. In this case you will receive a full refund of the price paid for the goods in accordance with our refund policy.

To cancel a contract you must notify us in writing and return the product to us immediately, in the same condition in which you received it and at your own cost and risk.

  4. Size

We stock clothing from several different collections. Some are sized 8, 10, 12 etc. Others are sized S, M, L etc. The table below is based on their guidance. In any event, all maternity clothing should be bought based on your pre-pregnancy size.

     UK                  8        10        12        14        16        18        20

    US                    4         6          8         10        12        14        16

    Eur                  36        38       40         42        44        46        48

                            XS          S         M           L         XL      (approx sizes)

If you were between two sizes pre-pregnancy we recommend that you opt for the larger of the two sizes. Most maternity wear has a degree of “give” and the material will adapt to fit your body.

  8. About Us

As a commercial lawyer who worked full time through three pregnancies, I struggled to find appropriate clothing to maintain my professional image. I know how important it is to feel dressed to carry out your role and to ensure that people continue to see you as a professional, and not somehow as a less authoritative, less capable person.

Regardless of your position in the business world, you need to continue to feel that you present a professional figure in the workplace and that you are treated with the respect that is due to you. Dressing appropriately helps you mentally to maintain that position in your own head and thus gives out the right messages to those with whom you interact.

    Our Goal

Born out of my frustration, The Professional Bump brings together some of the best maternity labels available worldwide. The time pressured, working mum-to-be can now select stylish, elegant maternity wear for the office at the click of a button.

I want you to be able to work right through your pregnancy feeling stylish, fashionable and comfortable. I have selected flattering designs that will make you feel attractive and that I would have relished wearing when I was pregnant

    Celebrate your new shape!

Go to work feeling good about the way you look. Pregnancy will give you that unique inner glow. The Professional Bump will add to that glow as our designs enhance your professional image, maintaining your confidence in the work place.
